The chef brought his pasta dishes to prominent restaurants, including the kitchen at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. He catered for celebrities, too, including the December 1915 wedding of President Woodrow Wilson. Eventually, a few of his loyal customers convinced him to sell his dried pasta kits in their grocery store. The product took off, and the chef decided to change his name so Americans knew how to pronounce it, resulting in the Chef Boyardee brand.
