Trivia: What planet is NOT named after a Roman god or goddess?
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Jupiter
The correct answer is Uranus
So why is this answer correct? : All the planets in the solar system are named after Roman gods except for two major exceptions: Earth and Uranus. While the word “Earth” has unrelated Germanic roots, Uranus is the name of a primordial god in Greek mythology. Because this planet had the farthest known orbit at the time, Uranus — being the grandfather of Zeus (Jupiter) and father of Cronus (Saturn) — seemed like a good fit and was proposed by astronomer Johann Elert Bode in 1782.
