The correct answer is Meatpacker Samuel Wilson

So why is this answer correct? : Uncle Sam is both a real and fictional person. On the fictional side, he’s the personification of the U.S. government. On the real side, he evolved from a meatpacker named Samuel Wilson. During the War of 1812, Wilson sent beef to the Army in barrels stamped “U.S.” (United States). The soldiers put their own spin on it and started referring to the food as Uncle Sam’s beef.
