Boston
Chicago
Pittsburgh
Philadelphia
Fact: Pittsburgh is the only U.S. city where all of its major professional sports teams share the same primary color scheme. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pittsburgh Penguins all use black and gold in their uniforms. The colors were inspired by Pittsburgh’s official city seal, which traces back to the coat of arms of William Pitt the Elder, for whom the city was named. The Steelers adopted black and gold in 1933, the Pirates followed in 1948 after previously wearing red, white, and blue, and the Penguins embraced the citywide color tradition in 1980 after originally using powder blue.
