Which historic building is the centerpiece of the Alamo battlefield?

Trivia: Which historic building is the centerpiece of the Alamo battlefield?

A Spanish schoolhouse
A hospital
A Catholic mission
The Alamo Courthouse

The correct answer is A Catholic mission

So why is this answer correct? : “Remember the Alamo!” is the well-known battle cry of the Mexican-American War of the 1840s. In 1836, this infamous siege took place in and around the 18th-century Franciscan mission. Although the Texans that held the mission were defeated, the Alamo became a symbol of resistance. The chapel was initially known as the Mission San Antonio de Valero and was founded around 1716. By 1800, it had fallen into partial ruin and was called the Alamo (Spanish for “cottonwood”) because of the nearby grove of cottonwood trees.
