So why is this answer correct? : The earliest cheesecake was created on the Greek island of Samos in the fifth-century BCE. Made from flour, wheat, honey, and cheese, early cheesecakes were considered a good source of energy. In fact, the treats were handed out to athletes at the first Olympic games in 776 BCE on the Isle of Delos. More than 2,000 years later in 230 BCE, Greek writer Athenaeus composed the first official recipe for the dessert.
