In the 1975 flick “Jaws,” after seeing the titular shark while sailing on the Orca, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) famously tells fisherman Quint (Robert Shaw) that they’re “gonna need a bigger boat.” The original Orca was actually a lobster boat named Warlock. To preserve the boat’s integrity, production also made a motorless fiberglass replica for scenes involving a lot of shark-dodging and boat-crumbling. After the movie’s success, the Warlock eventually found a permanent home at Universal Studios in California before being mysteriously destroyed.
