Trivia: What sport was originally called “snurfing”?
Snowboarding
Snooker
Sumo
Speed Skating
The correct answer is Snowboarding
So why is this answer correct? : In 1965 in Muskegon, Michigan, the precursor of the modern snowboard was born. An engineer named Sherman Poppen created the prototype, which his wife coined a “Snurfer,” combining the ideas of surfing and snow. Originally, the first snowboard was just two skis bolted together, but it quickly grew in popularity and was redesigned. About a million Snurfers had been sold by the end of the 1970s, when the word “snowboard” became the more popular term.
