Trivia: What are babies born without?
Eyelashes
Hair
Kneecaps
Fingernails
The correct answer is Kneecaps
So why is this answer correct? : Babies are born with a lot of cartilage that eventually turns into bone as they mature. For this reason, they are born without kneecaps. Instead, a few tiny pieces of cartilage are located at the knee. These eventually fuse into bone and form kneecaps. This is a product of evolution — cartilage is much easier on the baby and the mother during birth than hard bones. The kneecaps don’t begin to ossify until age 2 and aren’t complete until around age 6.
