Trivia: On what day is the President of the United States inaugurated?
January 20
March 4
July 4
December 31
The correct answer is January 20
So why is this answer correct? : President George Washington’s first inauguration was on April 30, 1789, and his second inauguration fell on March 4, 1793. While March 4 was arbitrarily chosen, it became the official inauguration date for more than a century. In 1933, the presidential inauguration was moved to January 20 as part of the newly established 20th Amendment. FDR was the first President inaugurated on that date when he took office for a second term.
